Last saturday was the day everyone was waiting for. Jamal Ben Saddik once again fought Rico Verhoeven. Jamal did a great job and showed that he is a force to be reckoned with!
The last time they fought was in 2011 where Jamal Ben Saddik won from the current world champion Rico Verhoeven.
Jamal "The Goliath" Ben Saddik (32 wins, 5 losses and 26 KO) challenged Rico "The King of Kickboxing" Verhoeven (52 wins, 10 losses and 15 KO) at GLORY 39 in Brussel in March 2017.
Last Saturday they fought once again. It was a championship fight, which consists out of 5 rounds of 3 minutes.
The first round was a massive win for Jamal. Jamal really gave some strong punches to Rico and almost knocked him down. Jamal was very focused and got through Rico's defense. The judges gave Jamal the first round. Jamal was definitely more active then Rico in the first two rounds.
Rico had to go through some deep waters, but he showed to be a true champ. Jamal was very close and on the verge of winning, but Rico turned the fight around in the last rounds. And he knocked out Jamal in the final round.
Even though we lost, we are very proud! We will be champion one day!

Jamal really showed that he is a force to reckoned with and showed his power , Rico had to go trough deep waters .... Tremendous hearth showed by both fighters and Rico showed he is a true champ , we were very close and winning but he turned it around in the later rounds !! I think everybody enjoyed the fight and we will be ready for the next one again ! We keep working hard and come out victorious next time ! Big respect to Rico by coming back after taking such heavy punishment he really showed that he has a big heart ! This was a fight that the crowd wanted and needed a real war by 2 athletes , I don't want to hear race things this was a fight between two training animals who gave all Saturday !!! It could go either way and for us it was 2-2 in round 5 we enjoyed it and go back in training hard !! We learned a lot from this battle !!
Jamal, you really put everybody his mouth open Saturday or closed a lot of other ones .... you showed that you are one of the best and were the stronger and improved so much your body, your skills, trough all the hard work and dedication, big respect and that our workouts with the team worked!! First time 5 rounds and against a condition Guy, You showed What You are capable of, we Will be champion that is 1 thing that is sure ! We have a big road to come and will get there !! 1-1 now , 2018 we want fight #3
