Cor Hemmers was born in Breda, the Netherlands, on 24 August 1956. After finishing high school, he went to university, where he graduated in mathematics. He studied law as part of his employment with insurance company Meeùs Holding where he later became a boardmember.
In 1984, Cor Hemmers decided to continue his business career as an entrepreneur and he opened his own gym called Maeng Ho / Hemmers Gym.
In 1990 Cor Hemmers also started a Promotion Company called Oriental Fight Promotions. He promoted many Martial Arts events and produced exclusive pan-European TV programs for Screen Sports.
At the moment Hemmers is active as Managing Director Sports and General Advisor at GLORY Sports International. (2012-2017)

Cor Hemmers began his martial arts training in judo at the age of 6, which he practiced until the age of 15 then he switched to Kyokushin Karate In 1976, he began competing in full contact karate During the 1980's, however, kickboxing became more popular in the Netherlands and Cor Hemmers took this up. His professional kickboxing record was 25 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw. Cor Hemmers opened his own gym and became trainer and manager from many professional Athletes. Cor Hemmers also practiced and competed in other Martial Arts like Boxing and Pencak Silat.
Cor Hemmers has trained and produced numerous world champions and contenders in both kickboxing and mixed martial arts including Ramon Dekkers, Noel van den Heuvel, Maikel Lieuwfat, Heath Herring, Stefan Leko, Alistair Overeem, Bas Rutten , Sergey Kharitonov, Chalid Arrab, Gökhan Saki, Nieky Holzken and Semmy Schilt
Furthermore, other celebrities like Peter Aarts, Peter Smit, Rob Kaman, Rick Rufus, Satake, Andy Hug were also trained or coached by him on various occasions.
April 2012 Cor Hemmers retired as a professional trainer and decided to continue his sports career as Head of Talent Operations and General Advisor with international kickboxing promotion GLORY.
